Last Weekend

Last weekend was a long one for all 5 of us!  We took Sara Beth to a party Saturday morning, and then headed to Target for Sam to buy his first toy with his own money.  This proved a very smart thing to do because he spent no less than 10 hours playing with it the rest of the weekend.

Then we enjoyed the beautiful weather while we played at the park!

Sara's Sunday School Class gave a couple of ladies a baby shower and I was able to make it to that!

Monday morning, this child woke up wanting some egg salad for breakfast.  So that is what she did!

Then we went to buy a new washing machine!  Thankfully we were in and out in 10 minutes because all 5 of us went!

We headed to Belhaven University to borrow their smooth sidewalks for some bike riding.  We have to remember to do that again because it was perfect.

We ran home to eat lunch and watch the washer be installed before heading out to see Paddington.

After the movie, the neighbors came over and they spent about 3 hours making a rocket ship out of the washer box!  It is very cool.  Inside the box, Wells thought of putting pictures of the moon and stars.

Then we ended the evening reading our fourth book in The Chronicles of Narnia series.  To pop our "fairytale of a day" bubble, the reading had to abruptly end with an early bedtime due to the littles arguing!  But in the joys of parenting, we will choose to remember all the good parts of the day and not let the end overshadow the rest!

Henson Family Beach Pics

Way back when at Thanksgiving, we took a Henson family trip to Rosemary Beach.  For Sandi's birthday, the kids  gave her family pictures as a gift.  The day that we took them  was very rainy so our pictures aren't very sunny.  However, the flip side of that is that everyone's eyes are open!  Our photographer was Jessica James and she was wonderful.  She would have retaken them, however we were pleased with them and it wasn't worth getting everyone dressed again.  She gave us a TON of them.  These are just a few!  I think they are pretty great!

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

We had a great Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.  We went to church on Christmas Eve and came home to eat soup and make cookies!  I don't know what I was thinking--but I need to plan more next year!  I have  had these nativity cookie cutters for a couple of years.  But since we've been sick the last two years I haven't used them.  This year we did and the kids loved it--but the icing didn't work at all!!

They didn't seem to notice or care and I bet our house was the only house where Santa had nativity cookies to eat!

I always want to remember that Sam would barely let us put him to bed.  He was in a major hurry to go to bed and would literally not let us kiss him or sing to him.  He wanted to go to sleep so Santa could come.  Ha!  And then the next morning, we had to wake him which is very unusual!

(On a side note--I have no idea why the Sara Beth and Sam aren't in Christmas pjs.)

Sam gave Zeb a Ninja Turtles shirt and mask!  Zeb is so sweet to wear it. So, if you see him out and about in it, know that a very excited 4 year old boy gave it to him!  When we bought it, he came running in the house "Daddy, I got your Christmas present today.  It may be a Ninja Turtle shirt, but it may not be!!!"

Their main present was a bike!  I think they were surprised.

We had a Christmas Day Brunch with family and friends!

After brunch we stayed around our house and played with their new toys.  Then we went to my moms for a quick and early dinner before heading out to look at Christmas lights.

My sweet grandmothers!  Doe isn't doing well at all, but felt great (and looked beautiful) on Christmas Day!

I'm already looking forward to next Christmas!
